Royal Orchid Hotels aims to quadruple its size in five years
June 23, 2009

Royal Orchid Hotels Ltd (ROHL) first went public in 2006 and is now looking to increase its number of rooms by 400 per cent in the next five years. It has completed 36 years in the business of hospitality this year.

Chender Baljee, Chairman and Managing Director, Royal Orchid Hotels, says, “We had set ourselves a target of 1000 rooms and a pan-India presence by 2009. We have achieved both our initial goals and we now seek to quadruple our size in the next five years; currently, we operate 1000 rooms across 12 properties and hope to increase the number to 4000 by 2015. We are constantly on a lookout for acquisitions and management contracts, in order to meet this goal. The global slowdown has only fuelled our ambitions for the Indian hospitality industry.”

The road to the next big target for Royal Orchid Hotels is set with properties coming up in the next one year. The company will cement its national presence with hotels across key locations in Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Hyderabad, New Delhi and Shimla. The company will also establish presence in Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania, the first hotel in an international location by the Royal Orchid Hotels brand.
